In the same way that there are foods that slow down the aging process for skin, making poor decisions in regard to what you consume and drink may, over time, show up in your appearance. Two holistic specialists spoke with The Healthy the foods that are the worst for your skin and that speed up the aging process, as well as the traits that all of these foods have.

According to what Dr. Krant explains to us, “research reveals that the traditional Western diet consisting of meat and dairy, which has cholesterol but no fiber, creates inflammation and causes skin to age quicker.”
If you can’t figure out why you keep getting breakouts and you consume dairy products, it might be the problem. Acne and other skin diseases, such as those that might hasten the pace at which our skin cells age, are caused by the milk protein known as casein, which is what causes inflammation and clogs pores.

The problem is that they are full of harmful trans fats and hydrogenated fats, both of which lessen the fluidity of the cells, overwork the liver, and induce inflammation.
Dr. Ellis Hunnes states, “It is well acknowledged that trans fats are awful for one’s health and should be avoided at all costs. It is in your best interest to consume foods that are entire and as near to their natural state as possible.” (You may be surprised to learn how unhealthy fried foods truly are.)
Carbohydrates that have undergone extreme processing
To mention just a few examples, ultra-processed and refined carbohydrates include packaged white bread, doughnuts, pastries, cookies, chips, and “instant” meals. Other examples include “instant” foods. (Uh, instant ramen, I’m looking at you.)
Dr. Krant says that junk foods are a source of inflammation, that they have little nutritional value, and that they contain very little or no fiber. Increasing the amount of fiber in your diet may encourage the growth of healthy gut bacteria, which can have positive effects on the whole body’s system and result in better skin.
