Adam Thielen and the Twins are pleased with Aaron Sanchez.

The Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 5-3 on Monday night in extra innings, but the club had yet to negotiate a deal until Gio Urshela's 10th-inning home run finished the game.

Aaron Sanchez's start was lost in the commotion when the Twins came back to tie the game in the eighth inning.

Then score three runs in the 10th to maintain their one-game lead in the American League Central.

Two game-tying singles by Jose and a two-run walk-off home run by Urshela, who had just returned from paternity leave to be with his wife and infant daughter.

Helped the Red Sox beat the Cardinals. The Twins, on the other hand, are winless without Sanchez.

After being given the ball, manager Rocco Baldelli commented, "That's precisely what you're expecting to see when you give the player a chance."
