Astros acquire veteran catcher Christian Vazquez from the Red Sox.

Christian Vazquez, a seasoned catcher for the Boston Red Sox, has been up for trade for some time.

Despite this, he went to Houston on Monday to begin a series against the Astros with the rest of his squad.

Vazquez, at least, believed that. Vazquez has changed teams less than two hours before the MLB trade deadline and less than 24 hours before the first pitch in Houston.

According to reports, the veteran was moved from Boston to Houston on Monday night. He will move from the opposing team's clubhouse to the one belonging to the host team.

In reality, Red Sox executives tried to confirm the transaction while removing the World Series champion from the press.

Just hours after acquiring Trey Mancini from the Baltimore Orioles in a three-team trade, Houston adds another well-known talent to the mix with this move.
