Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent submitted a new policy to the school board on Thursday.

After releasing a mask policy plan that contradicted advice from health authorities.

When Milwaukee County has a "high" COVID level, as assessed by the CDC based on the number of cases and hospitalizations, MPS employees and students will be compelled to wear masks.

Masks will not be required in any other case. In terms of the Milwaukee Health Department COVID dashboard, we now have a high COVID level.

As of Thursday evenings, residents may keep an eye on things by checking the "community level" button on the dashboard.

The Milwaukee Health Department's CoVid dashboard shows a significant level of contamination throughout the county right now.
