Big Boy Alligator Drags Away A Dead Burmese Python in the Everglades Canal

In the Florida Everglades, a guy captured incredible video of an alligator carrying away a dead Burmese python.

Carl Nicholson, a resident of Everglades City, Florida, shot the video on July 24 and shared it on Facebook.

Alligators have been seen tossing snake carcasses into canals before hauling them out into open waters.

It's unclear whether the alligator really killed the snake or if it just happened to come upon it dead when it did.

The Burmese python is one of the world's biggest snakes, with a maximum length of up to 20 feet. There is a Florida record of 18 feet, 9 inches.

A well-adapted invasive species in the Everglades region of South Florida, snakes from Southeast Asia have flourished as an invasive species there.
