In the wake of Kurt Busch's announcement, 23XI Racing has responded.

For this weekend's NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400, Kurt Busch has confirmed that he would not be competing due to a medical issue.

"While I continue to make gains every day and cannot wait to get back in the No. 45 Monster Energy Toyota Camry TRD.

I have yet to be cleared to return to competition and will not be competing in the NASCAR Cup Series race this weekend at Michigan International Speedway," Busch stated.

"I'm certain Ty [Gibbs] will do an outstanding job this weekend in Michigan as he continues to represent 23XI and the No. 45 Monster Energy team.

My goal is to be back in the vehicle at Richmond Raceway by the end of the month.

The continuing support of everyone is really appreciated, and I look forward to getting back on track as soon as I possibly can."
