In the women's team gymnastics, England WIN GOLD.

On a night that might have been the final competition for previous world medalist Claudia Fragapane, teenage Ondine Achampong won the women's team gymnastics gold for England at Arena Birmingham.

The 18-year-old Achampong overcame her natural anxieties in her first significant multi-sport event to earn 14.15 points

which was enough to defeat the Australian team's resurgent effort after they had narrowed the gap to just 0.05 points going into the final round.

But it was Fragapane, a gymnast who was towards the end of her career, who electrified the crowd with a moving floor routine.

Although she was denied a spot in the solo final, it was a fitting finale to her career at the Commonwealth Games as she won a fifth gold medal.

The other players on England's winning team were Kelly Simm, Georgia-Mae Fenton, and Alice Kinsella.
