Juan Soto's Nationals reportedly rejected one significant offer.

Although just a small number of MLB teams had the resources to acquire Juan Soto, it's likely that more than half of them would have preferred to add him to their roster at this week's trade deadline.

one team reportedly "made a hefty offer" for Soto. The Seattle Mariners were willing to trade Soto for Noelvi Marte and Edwin Arroyo, claims Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Unfortunately for the Mariners, the Nationals didn't think that this offer came close to meeting their needs. In the end, the Mariners exchanged them for Luis Castillo.

According to insiders, the Mariners made a sizable offer for Soto at the beginning of the Nationals' negotiations, leading their package with shortstops Noelvi Marte

and Edwin Arroyo, two of the guys that ultimately assisted the Mariners in acquiring Luis Castillo from the Reds.

Luis Castillo is a good consolation prize after an All-Star performance, but an exceptional bat like Soto might make a big impact in the Fall.
