Mets defeat Marlins as their winning streak reaches six

On Sunday, the visiting New York Mets thrashed the Miami Marlins 9-3 to match a season high with their sixth straight triumph.

In the third, the Mets added three more runs. Tyler Naquin's triple allowed McNeil, who had doubled, to score. With RBI singles, Canha and Brandon Nimmo extended their lead to 6-0.

Luis Guillorme doubled, moved up on Patrick Mazeika's single, and scored on Nimmo's groundout to give New York a 7-0 advantage.

Leblanc doubled and scored on Jacob Stallings' single to give Miami its first score in the bottom of the fifth.

The Marlins' deficit was reduced to 7-3 in the sixth inning as Bryan De La Cruz doubled and advanced to third on a Naquin throwing error to right.

After a groundout with an RBI by Jesus Sanchez, Leblanc launched his home run.
