NBA Champ Arrested

As of this writing, TMZ reports that Iman Shumpert has been taken into custody. The five-time NBA champion has played for the Cavaliers, Knicks, Nets, Kings, and Rockets, among others.

Iman Shumpert, the NBA champion in 2016, was detained on Saturday, according to TMZ.

The New York Knicks selected Shumpert in the 17th round of the 2011 NBA Draft after he played college basketball at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Shumpert attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta and was drafted 17th overall by the Knicks in 2011. In 2012, he was chosen to the All-Rookie Team with the Knicks.

In 2013, he helped Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks reach the NBA Playoffs' second round. In 2015, he joined LeBron James and Kyrie Irving on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He played with the Brooklyn Nets for two seasons, most recently in 2020-21.
He never averaged more than 9.5 ppg, but he was a terrific role player and defender.
