Synthetic cannabinoids or cannabis compounds like CBN will no longer be sold in Oregon as of July 1.
It is the first state in the US to ban lab-grown marijuana, but many types are already illegal at the federal level.
Officials in Oregon said that the lack of rules about synthetic marijuana played a role in their decision.
Starting July 1, marijuana shoppers won't be able to buy certain weed gummies and other products, even if they don't contain THC.
"Pesticides are checked for. We've done tests to see if there are any solvents left over from the extraction process.
We haven't tested the chemical reagents that can be used to synthesize cannabinoids.
