Rolando McClain was detained in Alabama for allegedly having a gun and marijuana.

Rolando McClain, a former star football player for Alabama, was detained over the weekend on drug and gun-related allegations in Alabama.

The 33-year-old McClain, a former linebacker in the NFL as well, was apprehended by the Moulton Police Department on Saturday night.

Approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, an officer saw a white Mercedes heading southbound on Alabama 157 close to Alabama 33.

When the police came to a stop, he could smell marijuana coming from inside the car.

McClain, the driver, was requested to exit the vehicle by Officer Epifanio Dejoya. Graham reported that McClain informed the officer of the presence of a firearm in the Mercedes right away.

The driver's side door pocket contained the gun, which the officer discovered. Inside the car, Dejoya discovered a pack of chewing tobacco along with a separate bag of marijuana.
