Ryan Blaney Is Disqualified From A NASCAR Race, But He Retaliates Right Away

As the regular season of the NASCAR Cup Series draws to a close, the pressure to win a race has increased with each passing week.

The Cup Series Playoffs will include a 16-driver field, with race winners getting first dibs on slots, followed by the best non-winners in the points standings

Only two positions remain in the field where drivers may progress purely on the basis of points earned over this season's 14 races.

On the road track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, yesterday's Verizon 200 wasn't the cleanest contest amongst those drivers battling for a playoff position.

Despite being the highest-placed driver in points without a victory, Ryan Blaney lost out on the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs.

After the race, Blaney responded because he was upset about missing out on a podium finish. Chase Elliott is killed in a massive crash at Indy while racing second.
