Tom Brady will play for the Buccaneers in the first preseason game.

Even though the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' preseason kickoff is still 10 days away, Tom Brady's participation in that game has already been confirmed.

Brady won't participate in the Buccaneers' first preseason game, according to head coach Todd Bowles, who made the announcement to the media on Wednesday morning.

This comes as a major shock. Brady doesn't really require preseason practise at this stage of his career.

Brady won't sit out the entire preseason even though he will watch the Buccaneers' exhibition game from the sidelines.

On August 20 against the Tennessee Titans or on August 27 against the Indianapolis Colts, the Buccaneers might let Brady engage in a few practise runs.

Brady won't start for the Buccaneers on August 13, which will give Blaine Gabbert, Kyle Trask, and Ryan Griffin more opportunities to play quarterback.
