Twitter is investigating Elon Musk's social circle.

The Washington Post reported that Twitter is probing Elon Musk's friends for information on his $44 billion bid to buy the company.

Twitter's legal team subpoenaed Silicon Valley investors Chamath Palihapitiya, David Sacks, Steve Jurvetson, Marc Andreessen, Jason Calacanis, and Keith Rabois

Some of the persons have not been specified as being involved in the transaction, indicating Twitter's broad hunt for material to bolster its legal effort to compel Musk to acquire the firm.

Twitter was silent. Palihapitiya, Sacks, Calacanis, Jurvetson, and Rabois didn't answer promptly. Musk and two of his lawyers didn't immediately react.

After Musk declared he was leaving the contract last month, accusing Twitter of not being honest about spam and bots, Twitter sued him in a Delaware corporate court, known as a Chancery Court.
