A study published in the journal Royal Society Open Science shows that researchers have found a way to grow and harvest cannabis to get the most CBD.
CBD is a cannabis-derived chemical molecule. CBD is a popular alternative therapy for joint pain, eczema, depression, and epilepsy.
Despite scientific doubts about CBD's usefulness, the worldwide market for cannabinoids is anticipated to reach $9.69 billion by 2025.
The current study is a collaboration between Thai and British universities. Scientists wanted to maximize CBD from cannabis.
The scientists studied how hemp's chemical makeup varies during harvesting, which is critical for gathering as much CBD as possible from cannabis plants.
"In the USA, the legal THC concentration limit cannot exceed 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis in any parts of the plant, seeds or extracts," said Hunt.
